Smell my feet, give me something good to eat.

Tonight I was grateful for the three lone (#300) Trick-or-treaters that came to my door. I guess it doesn't help living in a student dominated neighborhood. I really love having kids come to the door and handing out candy. To me that is the best part of Halloween. I don't get really into costumes or scary stuff, but I do love having kids come decked out in their costumes. It reminds me of the good old days, knocking doors in Thornton. I hope those kids enjoyed their treats, and that more come around next year.

Groovy baby

This weekend I am thankful for my (#297)Grandma Zimmerman. She came to visit the family and I had the chance to head up to Logan and see her. She is part of the reason I even exist so it is only fitting that I be thankful for her. She hasn't had the easiest life, but she still has a good attitude and a strong testimony of the gospel. She is so willing to help me out or teach me new things, she is just great. Thank goodness for grandmas.

I really feel that (#298)Tye-dying is a lost art. I needed a shirt for me hippie costume tomorrow but I really didn't want to make my own. But since I was home with my family my sisters decided it would be fun if we all made one. Turns out it is really easy and really cool. I will be the best looking hippie at work tomorrow.

I am also thankful for these (#299)awesome pink shoes Elizabeth brought me from Spain. I haven't worn them very much but they fit my Halloween costume perfectly. Elizabeth thanks for your foresight in knowing I would need those years down the road.

Now recording

I have never been one to jump at new technology. There are a lot of high tech things I don't really care about. But I have to say that I love having (#296) DVR. Ok so this really isn't a high tech gadget, but it is really cool. I can just record things and then watch them whenever I want. The crazy thing is that I find myself watching even less tv now that I can do this. I just make sure things are recording and then I flip it on whenever I feel like it. What a wonderful invention.

Say cheese

I am really grateful for (#295) pictures. They can capture so many thoughts and feelings into one image. Not every picture of me looks great, so I tend to skip over those quite quickly. But it's so fun to flip through pictures of family and friends and remember what you were doing at that time, who you were in that moment. Diamonds may be forever, but I think in the end pictures are much more valuable.

Buzzzzzzzzz

(#294) Electric stimulation therapy is my new best friend. I bought this little therapy machine from work and it is wonderful. It buzzes you muscles into submission until they no longer hurt. Eventually this machine is going to live with my family in Logan, so I may have to buy another one. It's 15 minutes of heaven that should be repeated every night.

Oh Happy Harvey

I fell behind again. It's now nearing the end of October so I have been trying to blog every day. I won't lie, it gets a little old sometimes. But I am determined to finish out the rest of the year. So here I am catching up and recommitting.

(#289) Deodorant- This is one of those things that I am thankful everyone has. What better gift can you give to others than you smelling nice?

(#290) Halloween Peeps- I know I already mentioned Peeps, but those were the Easter kind. Halloween Peeps are shaped like pumpkins and ghosts, so that is completely different. But they still taste excellent.

(#291) My pink afghan- Grandma Zimmerman made it for me when I was around 5 years old. I still have it and it is in excellent condition. It inspire me to acquire some type of crafty talent.

(#292) New books- I love starting a new book. It's like getting to know a new person and learning all these new secrets they have to tell you.

(#293) Carving pumpkins!- I love carving pumpkins. We did it as an activity for FHE and our apartment pumpkin turned out pretty awesome. I love scooping out the guts and squishing them all over the place. Deciding what face and personality to give your pumpkin is hard, but Harvey turned out very happy looking. He will enjoy his next few days living on the front porch.

I want to pump you up

I'm grateful I (#288) made it to the gym today. It was one of those day where the thought of being at the gym made me want to die. I knew the post-work out feeling would be great, but I had serious doubts about actually getting myself there in the first place. Well willpower did prevail and I made it to the gym, not the greatest work-out of my life, but it beat going home and spending the evening on the couch. Go me!

Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus and Numbers

I am thankful for the (#287) bible. I feel like it gives me really good insight into the life of Jesus Christ. I like getting a picture of the things He did and the lessons He taught. I know that I am not the best when it comes to reading the bible. But I have been making more of an effort these days and I can say that it has really helped my testimony of the Savior grow. I am thankful to all the prophets and translators who were able to make the bible so accessible to people like me.

I'm missing you like Candy

It's no secret that I have a massive sweet tooth, so why should it come as any surprise that I am love (#286) candy. That's why October is an awesome month, unlimited candy. I have held myself back until this point because I knew if I started early it would never stop. Now we are halfway through the month and I am happily munching on some candy corn pumpkins. Oh I love this month.

Back it up buddy

Today I am thankful for (#285) people who respect my personal space. Lately I have run into people who don't understand the concept of a personal bubble. They're just right up in your face, touch you, and hardly leaving any room to breathe. This has come from people that I hardly know and so that makes the offense that much greater. I am very thankful to those who can keep a respectful distance and not make me feel as if I am being invaded. Good job on your social skills people.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZ

I am very thankful for (#284) sleeping in. I spent most of the last year and a half sleeping in. It just became part of my routine and I never really thought about it. Since starting my new job I have been waking early and finding myself tired by the end of the week. I have had a renewed appreciation for sleeping in, to not have anything I have to wake up for. Sometimes it's just nice to be lazy.

Harry Potter, Harry Harry Potter

Tonight I saw The Deathly Hallows Part 2 and I just have to say, I love/am very thankful for (#283) Harry Potter. Those who don't like Harry Potter or who haven't read the books will never understand having such feelings for fictional people and the world they live in, but it's true. I grew up with Harry, Ron, and Hermione and they will forever be a part of my history. Someday I hope to have all the books and be able to read them to my children. Then they can understand the awesomeness of witches and wizards. A special shout out to J.K Rowling and the wonderful world that she created for us.

How's my head looking?

I think I am channeling my first grade self, but lately I have really been into (#282) headbands. I bought a few of those stretchy ones that don't slip off your head and they are excellent. Originally they were only for work-outs. But I am a lazy person and have found that these things work wonders when you don't feel like doing your hair for the day. These headbands stay in place and you don't have to worry about anything. I like that type of accessory. I'm thankful these things made their way back into popularity.

Psych

(#281) Psych is back! Tv is not the most important thing in the world, but I do find it very entertaining. Psych is an awesome show and it has been gone forever. I am super happy to have it back. Let the laughs and happiness begin.

Breaking the lunch

I am very thankful to have a (#280) lunch break. It is definitely when I will be taking my nap tomorrow. Thank goodness for that time out to get you through the day.

What child is this?

I am going to get serious for a minute and say that I am very thankful that I know (#279) I am a child of God. I think that is one of the biggest things I came away with from this last conference session. It is such a simple doctrine, but the more I think about it the more it changes the way I see things. Regardless of how my life is going at the moment, good or bad, I know Heavenly Father loves me because I am his child. And though I may not be able to always understand it, He wants nothing but the best for me.  If I am able to remember that more often life will be much better.

My Aunt Flow came to visit

I am really thankful for the (#277) roommate who folded my laundry on Saturday. I was being one of those annoying people and not taking my clothes out of the dryer. Instead of throwing them in a pile on top of the dryer (which is what I normally do), this person folded everything and left it in a nice neat stack. Thank you roomie, not sure which one it was but I greatly appreciate it.

This is definitely in the "too much information" arena, but I am really thankful for (#278) tampons. For the longest time I could only use pads. Let's be honest here, it's basically like wearing a diaper and leaves you feeling icky. Whoever invented the tampon should be eternally rewarded. It has made that time of the month a little easier to handle. And for something that we will be dealing with for years and years to come, that's a big deal.

Roasty toast

I am super thankful to have a (#276) heater in my car. I may have said this already at the beginning of the year, but I don't really care. Unfortunately winter seems to have butted in line and we are experiencing snow before fall has even gotten under way. I am not a fan of that, and the chilly mornings aren't making me any happier. Luckily my car has a heater and it actually works. After a brief warm-up period I make my way to work in a toasty little box. Bless the heater!

I need to borrow some sweats

Is there anything more comfortable than a pair of (#275) sweats? Right now I can't think of anything better. I got a new pair as a birthday present to myself, it was actually from the parentals, they sent me the money. These sweats are fabulous not only because they have BYU on the side, but they still have that really comfortable new sweat feel on the inside. I could wear these all day. I at least plan on wearing them all weekend. With the cold weather moving in it's the perfect excuse not to have to take them off.

I looked out the window and what did I see?

I am really grateful to have (#274) windows at my new job. I spent almost a year and a half working in a basement. That does something to you over time. It's hard going to work when it's light only to find it completely dark when you get out. Realizing that it has snowed in the seven hours you have been underground is a little hard as well. The chiropractic office has windows everywhere! The whole front of the office is basically windows. I get to watch the rain, snow, wind, light, dark and whatever else may be happening outside. It's good to be in touch with the world again.

No Parking Anytime

I am thankful for the (#272) close parking spot I found at the institute building today. Normally I try to park far away and walk, always looking to burn a few extra calories. (That way I don't feel as bad when I eat the leftover ice cream at home) Today however I just didn't feel like walking, it was a lazy day. After a few circles of the lot I was able to find a place pretty close the the building. It just goes to show that persistence and laziness will bring you blessings.

Speaking of ice cream, I'm really glad I had that (#273) leftover grasshopper shake in the freezer. I ending up eating it while watching The Biggest Loser. I'll admit there seems to be something wrong with that picture, but that's how the night went. It was delicious and I did not for one minute envy the people running and sweating on tv. Tomorrow I will strive to be more like them......... yep tomorrow sounds good.

All my sisters

Another conference weekend has come and gone, as always I find myself very grateful to have (#270) modern revelation that comes from a prophet and 12 apostles. It's amazing to see men who have such a close connection to Heavenly Father telling us what He wants us to know. Having their guidance makes me feel safe in knowing that I will be guided and directed in the way I need to go. I cannot imagine life without modern revelation and am so thankful to have been blessed by it my whole life.

I am also very grateful for (#271) priesthood session of conference. It is an excellent time for men to receive instruction on what the Lord wants them to do. It is also a great time for women to spend time with one another. I got to spent the evening with Emily and Angela and it was great to have some girl time. Boys are great, but sometimes you need your girlfriends. I'm thankful for a night to have time with each other.
