Today is December 31, 2011......... I made it!!!! An entire year has passed which is mind boggling to think about. So much has happened and there are so many things to be grateful for. I wanted to think of something really good for my last blog post. But the only thing I can think of is that I am grateful for (#365) life. I realize that sounds cheesy, or like I am trying to sound really thoughtful or profound, but who cares. I am very thankful for life in general. This blog is evidence of everything I have been given so it's hard to feel anything other than gratefulness for my amazing life. I am thankful for the people in my life, the faith that guides me, and for the person I am. When bad days come around I know I can look back on this blog and remember that there are so many things to be grateful for.
President Monson's quote at the bottom of this page says that to live with gratitude always in our hearts is to touch heaven. I feel like I have touched a bit heaven this year and I really hope to carry that throughout the rest of my life. I am very excited for 2012 and the new opportunities and experiences it will bring. Happy New Year!!

I see the finish line
Blogging my thankfulness has been an awesome experience this year, but I am so thankful to (#364) be almost done. Don't get me wrong, I have learned a lot and really come to realize how blessed I am. Every day I am blessed with so many things and it is always nice to remember them. But having to write a blog post about it every single day has gotten a little old. I will be grateful to have some time away from the blogging world before I start up again.

The way you make me feel
Have I been thankful for hair already? At this point it's so hard to keep track, but I am going to risk repeating myself by saying yet again that I am so thankful I have (#361) hair. I would really hate to be bald. Preston is always asking me if he can shave my head, but I just don't feel like that would be a good look for me. I am especially thankful for my hair. It is one part of my appearance that I honestly say I like. True, in it's natural state it looks more like a lion's mane, but with some heat, hair products, and plenty of patience, it comes out looking ok.
This is a strange one, but I am thankful for (#362) Michael Jackson. I ignore all the weird stuff about him and just focus on what he was, the King of Pop. His music makes me smile and I love watching his old music videos. There will always be a special place in my heart for the Man in the Mirror.
As a Christmas present to myself I bought a heavy duty, salon style (#363) nail file. This things is amazing, you could use it to shave a pencil down to a stub if you wanted to. As a therapist I am constantly filing my nails down and it's nice to have a file that gets the job done.

Oh brother
This happened yesterday, but I am still super thankful for it. I am grateful for the annual (#360) Christmas phone call with missionaries. As a family we got to skype with Spencer and it was so much fun. Being the Schwab boy that he is, he answered our call wearing a loin cloth and started explaining that this was how they did their tracting every day in South Africa. Oh what brothers I have. Once he was fully dressed however we had great converstation for over an hour and a half. He got to tell us stories and hear about everything going on at home. The best part is that we actually got to see him. I'm really thankful for his mission president and the senior missionary couple that made the whole thing possible.

I stand all amazed
Today is Christmas Day!! Honestly there are so many things to be thankful for on a day like today. But if I had to pick one, it would have to be the reason Christmas really means anything. I am so thankful for (#359) the Atonement, and for Jesus Christ who was willing to sacrifice Himself to make it all possible. Nothing else really means anything if we don't have this. The atonement is what gives me peace about the next life, I know that regardless of how often I mess up I can make things right again so that I can qualify for eternal life. I am so grateful to have someone who loves me enough to go through that type of suffering, just to make sure that I can be with Him and my family some day. I love the Savrior and I am so thankful for His gift to me. I couldn't ask for anything greater.

O Holy Night
I love my families (#357) Christmas traditions. Sometimes it doesn't really feel like Christmas until we start doing these things. We make gingerbread houses, eat Papa Johns pizza, and watch A Christmas story. Every year we do these same things, and it just makes me happy. Traditions are wonderful because it's something you can count on every year.
It is now Christmas Eve, and I think the thing that I am most grateful for in my life is celebrated tonight. I am thankful that (#358) my Savior Jesus Christ was born. His birth takes up only a few verses in the bible, but the impact that His life has on me and everyone else on earth will be never ending. I am so grateful that He was born, that He lived the life that He did. I am thankful for Christ's example and for the endless love that He gives me. I love Him so much and know that I need to do much better at making Him the center of my life. I am thankful on this night that we get to celebrate Him coming into the world.

All my bags are packed
I am grateful to have a (#356) suitcase. Traveling would be quite the event if I had to shove everything into paper sacks or plastic bags, plus I would look pretty trashy. My luggage may not be the best, but it lets me travel around without losing everything I own.

Clean and clear and under control
I don't mean to start sounding like one of those t.v. infomercials, but I love my (#355) Proactiv face products! For the past year it has been doing a pretty good job keeping my face looking nice and clear. This is very helpful because even at 26 my skin can't seem to decide whether I am going through puberty or not. It's nice to have something that can give me the confidence to walk around without covering up my face. Thank you Proactiv, with or without all your celebrity endorsements, I think you're pretty great.

You should try to be perfect, like me
I was thinking about the lesson I taught on Sunday and it got me thinking, I am very grateful for (#354) exaltation. I am grateful that there is something after this life, that I don't just stop existing. I am thankful for the chance to become like my Father in Heaven and for the life that waits for me. Thinking that far into the future hurts my brain, but I am thankful to know that it is possible if I can do my part.

Texas Roadhouse
I am super grateful to the (#353) surprise visitor we got at work today. A random worker from Texas Roadhouse brought us an entire box of rolls, all for free. I think they were trying to solicit business. I wasn't even expecting this little treat and it made me so happy. I love little things like that that make your day better.

Teacher teach me
The best part of any lesson is when you sit down and realize that you are all done teaching. Today was my first lesson as a relief society instructor, and I am so thankful (#352) to be done with this lesson. It was nice having to study and learn more about the topic we covered, but I am so thankful to be done. Now I can be at peace for a few more weeks before it nerves start all over again.

Do the Coco-motion with me
Tonight I am oh so thankful for my (#351) Coco-motion machine. I got for a Christmas present a few years ago and it is wonderful. All you have to do is pour the milk and hot chocolate mix together and it is whipped to heated perfection in just a few minutes. Some people have commented that it is just as easy to pop a mug into the microwave. This may be true, but the Coco-motion makes it nice and frothy on top, which we all know is the key to an excellent cup of hot chocolate.

Ho Ho Ho
Today (#346) one of my regular clients brought me a Christmas present! It was so sweet. She got me the Satin hands set from Mary Kay. That was just the nicest thing ever, my hands are always so dry and this will really help. I am grateful for people who appreciate what I do and say thank you with cool gifts.
(#347)Christmas movies are wonderful. Nothing gets me excited for Christmas like popping in ELF or The Santa Claus. They really bring out the holiday spirit and are just so quotable, something I always appreciate.
I am really thankful for my (#348) make-up. (Have I already said that?) I don't always enjoy putting it on, but it's nice to have something to cover up your face and make you look better.
(#349) Candy Canes are so awesome. Peppermint is one of the best flavors ever and candy canes are a perfect excuse to OD on this wonderful flavor.
I really love and am thankful for (#350) nativity scenes. They are a small reminder of the miraculous reason we celebrate Christmas. There are so many versions, but each ones reminds me of Christ and what he came here to do.

Viva Las Vegas
I got to spend the weekend in Vegas with one of my BFF's so of course there wasn't time to blog. But along the way I found many things to be grateful for. Here they are.
I am first and foremost thankful that (#339) my car did not die on my road trip. It was a 10 hour drive round trip and my biggest fear was that I would wind up on the side of the road stranded because my car decided to pick that exact moment to have a hissy fit.
I am also very grateful that there was (#340) no snow this weekend. I love snow around the holidays, but I was grateful for the sun this weekend. It made driving easier.
(#341) BFF's are wonderful. I have a few of them and they just make life better. I am grateful that even once we move away from each other, it is still possible to meet up and talk like we have never been apart. That is a real friend.
I am very thankful to live in an area where there is (#342) not an abundance of pornography every where. Porn is every where in Vegas, anywhere you look you can see it. I am glad to live in an area where I don't have to shield my eyes every time I walk outside.
(#343) M&M World. It is just the happiest place ever. I think I could have justified buying almost anything that had the peanut M&M on it. I don't know why but I just like that guy. How great to have an entire store dedicated to him and his friends.
I am really grateful for (#344) the queen size bed at the motel. It made me realize how nice big beds can be. It was also very welcoming after a long Saturday of walking up and down the Las Vegas strip.
(#345) Elizabeth's camera is very nice, and it did a great job recording our awesome times this weekend. I am thankful for people who take pictures and then let me steal them.

O Christmas tree
I love the (#338) little Christmas tree my mother loans me every year. Sure it's fake, but it still give the apartment that holiday feel. I hated having to wait until I got home to enjoy a Christmas tree and feel that it was really Christmas time. Now I can enjoy it all month long and that makes it so much better.

Great kicks
I am really grateful for my (#337) tennis shoes. They are the only thing that keep my feet from hurting after a long day at work.

Defroster the snow man
Right now I am very thankful to have a (#336) defroster that works. The windows are frosty every morning and this makes it much easier to get driving quickly. Let's hope those stay functioning all winter long!

Best two years
Have I been thankful for (#335) missionaries this year? Well if I have already they get another shout-out. I am grateful for missionaries. I am thankful they give up two years of their lives to bless others. My brother is being molded into a great man because of his mission. My dad is a convert to the church, thanks to missionaries and his grandpa who was a member-missionary. So much good is done by them and I am very grateful.

Silent night
Tonight I was once again able to go to the (#334) Christmas Devotional up on Temple Square. I love seeing the lights up in Salt Lake. It really makes me feel like it's Christmas time. I also love listening to the First Presidency talk about Christmas and how we can keep the spirit of Christ with us throughout the month of December. It was an excellent way to kick off the Christmas holiday.

Why is the elephant white?
We had our work Christmas party tonight and I came away with an awesome white elephant gift. My new (#333) ginormous Barbie Pez dispenser is really creepy and really cool. I love these type of gift exchanges where you come away with the most random things. The Justin Bieber singing toothbrush that I bought also went over well so it was a great evening.

Fortune cookies
I am really grateful for (#332) Fongs Chinese restaurant that is right across the street from my work. It allowed me to have a decent lunch today after I dropped my amazing Thai food leftovers on the floor. Ugh I was so sad in that moment, and very hungry. But thanks to Fongs I was still able to eat lunch, it even had a little Asian flair to it. Thanks Fongs.

Once upon a December
I am thankful for (#331) December. It's such a happy month. The snow is just starting to come and so it is welcomed. Christmas music is rampant, every store is filled with delicious holiday treats, and I know that dieting at this time is pointless so I don't even try. Oh what a wonderful month.

Nice and toasty
My new (#329) table warming blanket came in the mail today. Now my clients will be comfortable and warm while they are relaxing to my awesome massage. Plus it makes the table much better for napping on.
Today I have (#330) no laundry to do. Mostly because I left all my sheets at work. But it is really nice to have an evening where I'm not running back and forth from the washing machine.

Thanks Thanks Thanks
(#324) Schwab/Pitchforth Thanksgiving- It's not just one day of thanks and celebration. It's an entire weekend of food, football, games, movies, volleyball, swimming, staying up late, sleeping in, and all around wonderful times.
(#325) Wally ball- We picked up a new sport over this last vacation. Wally ball is super fun and you feel really strong when the ball goes bouncing off the walls in all directions.
(#326) Spiced punch- Heidi made spiced punch for Thanksgiving which always get me in the holiday mood. I could drink that stuff all day long.
(#327) Band-aids- I am really grateful for these sticky little things. I butchered myself shaving today, without band-aids I would probably still be stuck in the shower dripping away.
(#328)-Christmas music!!- The time has finally come to start blasting the Christmas tunes. Those who break the rules have been doing this since October. I am finally ready to join the ranks and getting my holiday groove on.

375 for 20 minutes
I am thankful for (#323) recipes. Mixing and adding things together right on the spot is not a talent of mine. Creativity in the kitchen isn't something I excel at. That is why I am grateful for recipes. I don't mind someone else bossing me around and telling me what to do. It usually turns out great which is all I can ask for.

Beep Beep Beep
I am really thankful for the (#322) snooze button. It has become my best friend lately. The record so far has been one hour of snoozing. Every morning I have good intentions to get up early and look really nice. But the snooze button is a bad influence, it says "Just hit me once, it won't hurt." I am thankful for this button and the few extra minutes it gives me every day.

Not the Pitchforks
I am thankful for the (#321) Pitchforth family. They are basically my second family. We spend every Thanksgiving break together and it is one of my favorite times of the year. Everyone is so close and we have such fun together. Sometimes I think that we were all meant to be in the same family, but no mother would be able to put up with that so we had to be split up into two families. I am so excited for this weekend and the crazy, loud, and wonderful times we will have.

Thou shalt not
This sounds like a strange statement, but I am grateful for (#320) commandments. A lot of people look at them as restrictions, or bothersome reminders of values they don't necessarily support. I see them as a reason for great joy in my life. I know that following the commandments and made my life better and much easier. I am thankful for a God who knows that obedience to commandments makes us happy. Following the commandments and making them a strong factor in my life has made me really happy and fulfilled.
Brrrr
I am so thankful for (#319) warmth. My house is toasty and warm, this makes life so wonderful. I went to a football game tonight and it was freezing! It felt like it was 10 degrees outside. All I could think about was how nice it would be to walk into my home and immediately start warming up. I am so thankful to have a warm place to live, to not have to worry about being cold at night. Oh I love being warm.

Between the lines
I am really grateful for (#318) parallel parking. Usually I hate parallel parking, but tonight it kept me from having to park way down the street from my apartment. My parking job may not look the greatest, but at least I am right next to my house.

ALFAC
I am really grateful for (#316) insurance. I don't actually have any right now, I really feel like I'm living on the edge. But I will soon be getting some from my work which is excellent news. At 26 I was kicked off my parents insurance and thought I would have to start living life in a bubble. Well thanks to my employers I will soon be insured and be able to resume my wild and risky lifestyle.
All of my new (#317) massage products game in the mail the other day! I love trying out new oils and lotions. Right now I'm finding that the massage gel is actually a very good option. I'm thankful for the simple things that making being a massage therapist so fun.

These boots were made for walking
I finally bought some (#315) new shoes this weekend! I grew up with the mindset that you wear, use, or drive something until it is no longer functioning. Well one of my pairs of shoes bit the dust and were could not be worn without causing my feet to hurt. So I went off to the mall and found myself a new pair. They are so cute and super comfortable. I am thankful for shoes, and to have money to buy shoes.

May the odds ever be in your favor
I just saw the (#314) trailer for the Hunger Games movie! I am so super excited! I love books and the new worlds that they are able to create. Books are always better than movies, but I still always get excited to see someones interpretation of the book, how closely it mirrors my own. The trailer looks really good and I can't wait to see it.

No talking class
I am thankful for my (#313) new calling, I am going to be a Relief Society instructor. This is going to be an excellent growing experience since standing in front of people and talking is one of my least favorite things to do in the world. But I am excited to be able to study more about the lessons and get an understanding of the principles we are learning. I'm not the best at reading ahead or studying the gospel very well. I am glad to have something that forces me to focus on the gospel. I think it will be an awesome blessing.

Who wears short shorts
I love my new (#312) Venus razor. It's one of those that has the moisture bar on the razor so you don't need shaving cream. I have the smallest shower ever, you can hardly turn a circle in that thing. So it's really helpful to have a razor that makes showering not such an ordeal.
Lunch naps
I am really thankful for my (#311) massage table. Yes it allows me to do my job which I love, but it also gives me a place to take a nap during my lunch break. Normally I have taken breaks in my car and tried to sleep in the front seat, not the greatest. Now I have a table/bed that is sitting in a dark room, what more could you ask for?

The three amigos
Man this is really getting harder as the year is coming to a close, but I am determined to persevere.
(#308) Going to bed early- I am a late person, I have a really really hard time making it to bed at a decent hour. But every once in a while the planets align and I am able to get to bed early. Those are wonderful nights, always something to shoot for.
(#309) My laptop- I am really grateful to have a computer. For the first few years of college I didn't have one. I was blessed to have an awesome roommate who would share hers all the time. But it is really nice to own your computer. Just one more thing that says you are an adult and you can buy cool things.
(#310) Grilled cheese and tomato soup- For me this is the all time comfort food, perfect for a cold evening at home.

Carb-monster
Yesterday I was grateful for (#306) carbs. For break-the-fast we had a pasta bar. What better way to end a fast then to stuff your face full of pasta? I am pretty sure I am a carb-freak. It's the carbs that keep you full and happy. I eat them way to often, but they are so wonderful and filling.
Today I am really thankful for the (#307) Senior missionary couple who sent us a video of Spencer in South Africa. It was so nice just to get a little peek at him. He is such a fun brother and I really miss him. But I know he is doing the Lord's work and love hearing about how much he is growing.

Let's fall back
I really feel that (#305) fall daylight savings is a wonderful and precious gift. We are being given a free hour of sleep here. No payments are required, you don't have to trade or work it off, it's just handed to you on a silver platter. I am not the biggest fan of it being dark so early in the evening, but for this one night I am thankful to have daylight savings. Sleep is one of those things I can never get enough of and I am so so grateful for this extra hour tonight!

World's Greatest Boss
I am so lucky to have (#304) good employers. Working for them has been a breath of fresh air. I really feel appreciated and valued where I work. The doctors and other employees have been really nice and welcoming these past few months. I also love how eager they are to make sure we are happy and taken care of. I approached them a few weeks ago to ask for today off, I really wanted to make sure I could go to Emily's wedding. They were more than happy to give me the day off. No heavy sighing or rolling of the eyes, no granting permission but making it seem like I was asking them to give me their first child. Thanks to my new employers, I will definitely be sticking around for a while.

Gag
Warning: A very sappy post is about to occur. This is a little of my cheesy side coming out, but I really love (#303) wedding videos. I went to my BFF Emily's wedding eve dinner and it was splendid. It was great to see her so happy with Micah. The whole night was great, but I especially liked watching the wedding video. I just love how it shows two separate lives slowly growing and coming together, all set to really good music. I know, I know, this is over the top gag me with a spoon stuff. But I still love it. Good Luck to Emily and Micah tomorrow and for the rest of their lives.

Not so smelly now are we?
I am really thankful for (#302) perfume and smelly body sprays. I can't smell myself very well so I am not sure what my natural scent is, I am seriously hoping it's not a gross one. It is very nice to have a little help in that department. I especially love Victoria Secret sprays. Let me whip out some Love Spell or Very Sexy and I will be walking tall with my lovely smelling self.

HA HA
(#301) Laughing is something I really like to do. My family can tell you that I do it a lot, and at almost anything. I am thankful this mood booster and I am thankful for the people who really make me laugh.

Smell my feet, give me something good to eat.
Tonight I was grateful for the three lone (#300) Trick-or-treaters that came to my door. I guess it doesn't help living in a student dominated neighborhood. I really love having kids come to the door and handing out candy. To me that is the best part of Halloween. I don't get really into costumes or scary stuff, but I do love having kids come decked out in their costumes. It reminds me of the good old days, knocking doors in Thornton. I hope those kids enjoyed their treats, and that more come around next year.

Groovy baby
This weekend I am thankful for my (#297)Grandma Zimmerman. She came to visit the family and I had the chance to head up to Logan and see her. She is part of the reason I even exist so it is only fitting that I be thankful for her. She hasn't had the easiest life, but she still has a good attitude and a strong testimony of the gospel. She is so willing to help me out or teach me new things, she is just great. Thank goodness for grandmas.
I really feel that (#298)Tye-dying is a lost art. I needed a shirt for me hippie costume tomorrow but I really didn't want to make my own. But since I was home with my family my sisters decided it would be fun if we all made one. Turns out it is really easy and really cool. I will be the best looking hippie at work tomorrow.
I am also thankful for these (#299)awesome pink shoes Elizabeth brought me from Spain. I haven't worn them very much but they fit my Halloween costume perfectly. Elizabeth thanks for your foresight in knowing I would need those years down the road.

Now recording
I have never been one to jump at new technology. There are a lot of high tech things I don't really care about. But I have to say that I love having (#296) DVR. Ok so this really isn't a high tech gadget, but it is really cool. I can just record things and then watch them whenever I want. The crazy thing is that I find myself watching even less tv now that I can do this. I just make sure things are recording and then I flip it on whenever I feel like it. What a wonderful invention.

Say cheese
I am really grateful for (#295) pictures. They can capture so many thoughts and feelings into one image. Not every picture of me looks great, so I tend to skip over those quite quickly. But it's so fun to flip through pictures of family and friends and remember what you were doing at that time, who you were in that moment. Diamonds may be forever, but I think in the end pictures are much more valuable.

Buzzzzzzzzz
(#294) Electric stimulation therapy is my new best friend. I bought this little therapy machine from work and it is wonderful. It buzzes you muscles into submission until they no longer hurt. Eventually this machine is going to live with my family in Logan, so I may have to buy another one. It's 15 minutes of heaven that should be repeated every night.

Oh Happy Harvey
I fell behind again. It's now nearing the end of October so I have been trying to blog every day. I won't lie, it gets a little old sometimes. But I am determined to finish out the rest of the year. So here I am catching up and recommitting.
(#289) Deodorant- This is one of those things that I am thankful everyone has. What better gift can you give to others than you smelling nice?
(#290) Halloween Peeps- I know I already mentioned Peeps, but those were the Easter kind. Halloween Peeps are shaped like pumpkins and ghosts, so that is completely different. But they still taste excellent.
(#291) My pink afghan- Grandma Zimmerman made it for me when I was around 5 years old. I still have it and it is in excellent condition. It inspire me to acquire some type of crafty talent.
(#292) New books- I love starting a new book. It's like getting to know a new person and learning all these new secrets they have to tell you.
(#293) Carving pumpkins!- I love carving pumpkins. We did it as an activity for FHE and our apartment pumpkin turned out pretty awesome. I love scooping out the guts and squishing them all over the place. Deciding what face and personality to give your pumpkin is hard, but Harvey turned out very happy looking. He will enjoy his next few days living on the front porch.

I want to pump you up
I'm grateful I (#288) made it to the gym today. It was one of those day where the thought of being at the gym made me want to die. I knew the post-work out feeling would be great, but I had serious doubts about actually getting myself there in the first place. Well willpower did prevail and I made it to the gym, not the greatest work-out of my life, but it beat going home and spending the evening on the couch. Go me!

Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus and Numbers
I am thankful for the (#287) bible. I feel like it gives me really good insight into the life of Jesus Christ. I like getting a picture of the things He did and the lessons He taught. I know that I am not the best when it comes to reading the bible. But I have been making more of an effort these days and I can say that it has really helped my testimony of the Savior grow. I am thankful to all the prophets and translators who were able to make the bible so accessible to people like me.

I'm missing you like Candy
It's no secret that I have a massive sweet tooth, so why should it come as any surprise that I am love (#286) candy. That's why October is an awesome month, unlimited candy. I have held myself back until this point because I knew if I started early it would never stop. Now we are halfway through the month and I am happily munching on some candy corn pumpkins. Oh I love this month.

Back it up buddy
Today I am thankful for (#285) people who respect my personal space. Lately I have run into people who don't understand the concept of a personal bubble. They're just right up in your face, touch you, and hardly leaving any room to breathe. This has come from people that I hardly know and so that makes the offense that much greater. I am very thankful to those who can keep a respectful distance and not make me feel as if I am being invaded. Good job on your social skills people.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZ
I am very thankful for (#284) sleeping in. I spent most of the last year and a half sleeping in. It just became part of my routine and I never really thought about it. Since starting my new job I have been waking early and finding myself tired by the end of the week. I have had a renewed appreciation for sleeping in, to not have anything I have to wake up for. Sometimes it's just nice to be lazy.
Harry Potter, Harry Harry Potter
Tonight I saw The Deathly Hallows Part 2 and I just have to say, I love/am very thankful for (#283) Harry Potter. Those who don't like Harry Potter or who haven't read the books will never understand having such feelings for fictional people and the world they live in, but it's true. I grew up with Harry, Ron, and Hermione and they will forever be a part of my history. Someday I hope to have all the books and be able to read them to my children. Then they can understand the awesomeness of witches and wizards. A special shout out to J.K Rowling and the wonderful world that she created for us.

How's my head looking?
I think I am channeling my first grade self, but lately I have really been into (#282) headbands. I bought a few of those stretchy ones that don't slip off your head and they are excellent. Originally they were only for work-outs. But I am a lazy person and have found that these things work wonders when you don't feel like doing your hair for the day. These headbands stay in place and you don't have to worry about anything. I like that type of accessory. I'm thankful these things made their way back into popularity.

Psych
(#281) Psych is back! Tv is not the most important thing in the world, but I do find it very entertaining. Psych is an awesome show and it has been gone forever. I am super happy to have it back. Let the laughs and happiness begin.

Breaking the lunch
I am very thankful to have a (#280) lunch break. It is definitely when I will be taking my nap tomorrow. Thank goodness for that time out to get you through the day.

What child is this?
I am going to get serious for a minute and say that I am very thankful that I know (#279) I am a child of God. I think that is one of the biggest things I came away with from this last conference session. It is such a simple doctrine, but the more I think about it the more it changes the way I see things. Regardless of how my life is going at the moment, good or bad, I know Heavenly Father loves me because I am his child. And though I may not be able to always understand it, He wants nothing but the best for me. If I am able to remember that more often life will be much better.

My Aunt Flow came to visit
I am really thankful for the (#277) roommate who folded my laundry on Saturday. I was being one of those annoying people and not taking my clothes out of the dryer. Instead of throwing them in a pile on top of the dryer (which is what I normally do), this person folded everything and left it in a nice neat stack. Thank you roomie, not sure which one it was but I greatly appreciate it.
This is definitely in the "too much information" arena, but I am really thankful for (#278) tampons. For the longest time I could only use pads. Let's be honest here, it's basically like wearing a diaper and leaves you feeling icky. Whoever invented the tampon should be eternally rewarded. It has made that time of the month a little easier to handle. And for something that we will be dealing with for years and years to come, that's a big deal.

Roasty toast
I am super thankful to have a (#276) heater in my car. I may have said this already at the beginning of the year, but I don't really care. Unfortunately winter seems to have butted in line and we are experiencing snow before fall has even gotten under way. I am not a fan of that, and the chilly mornings aren't making me any happier. Luckily my car has a heater and it actually works. After a brief warm-up period I make my way to work in a toasty little box. Bless the heater!

I need to borrow some sweats
Is there anything more comfortable than a pair of (#275) sweats? Right now I can't think of anything better. I got a new pair as a birthday present to myself, it was actually from the parentals, they sent me the money. These sweats are fabulous not only because they have BYU on the side, but they still have that really comfortable new sweat feel on the inside. I could wear these all day. I at least plan on wearing them all weekend. With the cold weather moving in it's the perfect excuse not to have to take them off.

I looked out the window and what did I see?
I am really grateful to have (#274) windows at my new job. I spent almost a year and a half working in a basement. That does something to you over time. It's hard going to work when it's light only to find it completely dark when you get out. Realizing that it has snowed in the seven hours you have been underground is a little hard as well. The chiropractic office has windows everywhere! The whole front of the office is basically windows. I get to watch the rain, snow, wind, light, dark and whatever else may be happening outside. It's good to be in touch with the world again.

No Parking Anytime
I am thankful for the (#272) close parking spot I found at the institute building today. Normally I try to park far away and walk, always looking to burn a few extra calories. (That way I don't feel as bad when I eat the leftover ice cream at home) Today however I just didn't feel like walking, it was a lazy day. After a few circles of the lot I was able to find a place pretty close the the building. It just goes to show that persistence and laziness will bring you blessings.
Speaking of ice cream, I'm really glad I had that (#273) leftover grasshopper shake in the freezer. I ending up eating it while watching The Biggest Loser. I'll admit there seems to be something wrong with that picture, but that's how the night went. It was delicious and I did not for one minute envy the people running and sweating on tv. Tomorrow I will strive to be more like them......... yep tomorrow sounds good.

All my sisters
Another conference weekend has come and gone, as always I find myself very grateful to have (#270) modern revelation that comes from a prophet and 12 apostles. It's amazing to see men who have such a close connection to Heavenly Father telling us what He wants us to know. Having their guidance makes me feel safe in knowing that I will be guided and directed in the way I need to go. I cannot imagine life without modern revelation and am so thankful to have been blessed by it my whole life.
I am also very grateful for (#271) priesthood session of conference. It is an excellent time for men to receive instruction on what the Lord wants them to do. It is also a great time for women to spend time with one another. I got to spent the evening with Emily and Angela and it was great to have some girl time. Boys are great, but sometimes you need your girlfriends. I'm thankful for a night to have time with each other.

V-I-C-T-O-R-Y
Tonight BYU won another football which has reminded me that I really love (#269) winning. Obviously winning isn't the most important thing in life, but it sure is pretty close. Winning gives you a high that can last for quite some time after you have crushed your opponent. That feeling can last longer when it has been a close win like tonight. The winning touchdown was scored in the last 15 seconds. What an awesome game!

Vanilla Ice
Have I ever mentioned that I love (#267) books? Well I do. There is nothing more enjoyable than curling up with a good book. That is why Barnes & Noble is probably one of the best stores ever invented. I could spend hours there and not even buy anything, I just love looking at books. Someday I will have an entire room in my house dedicated to books. That part of Beauty and The Beast where Beast basically gives Belle the whole library, the most romantic thing ever. I just love books and am so grateful to have easy access to them.
There is something very simple and wonderful about (#268) vanilla soft serve. As a kid I thought it was a punishment when my parents would only let me get a vanilla cone. I wanted the shakes or billzards, not the boring vanilla. Well as I kid I was stupid, because sometimes a basic vanilla cone is the best tasting thing around. I am thankful that I grew out of my foolish childish ways. Vanilla forever!

C&H
Lately I have been reading the (#266) Calvin and Hobbes comic books. Every once in a while my roommate will hear random laughs coming from my room and wonder what is going on. They are so funny and really bring a smile to my face. I think one reason I like them so much is that they remind me of my dad. He has all the books and I would see him reading them when we were kids. It's quite a simple comic, but it brings a smile to my face every time. Who doesn't need a little pick-me-up every now and then? I am thankful for Calvin and Hobbes and their crazy antics that make me laugh.

Thank you Melissia for the bag of (#265) Peanut M&M's you gave me last night. They have made this night much better.

Now serving number 247
This week I had to get my license renewed. Yep, it's that time again. I felt like I just did this five years ago, oh wait, I did. While the DMV is not the most enchanting place in the world I am still very thankful I went and that I am able to have a (#264) driver's license. The excitement I felt at 16 is mostly gone, driving is just something I do every day. But I am thankful for it. Driving gives you freedom and independence, something that I would never give up. Even though the new picture on my license may not show it, I am very very happy to be driving.
Striker keep striking
Ah (#263) bowling. I would have to say that it is one of my favorite past times. My level of skill is constantly fluctuating, but I still love it. Something about the ball, the lanes, even the shoes, I just have such a ball. (hehe pun intended). Although scoring a 147 after a very long absence does make for a more enjoyable experience. I'm thankful for bowling, it's something I can actually beat my brothers at.

Candy canes aren't green
Right now I am very grateful for my (#262) Theracane. It is this amazing device that helps you work sore muscles all over your body. It looks like a large green candy cane and has short little arms and nobs sticking out of it. You use the nobs to apply pressure to different knots in your muscles. My shoulders are aching right now and it's the only thing that will help. Probably the best $30 I ever spent.

How do you feel?
I am really thankful that I am able to (#261) help people feel better for a living. This past week I have had multiple clients come out of a massage telling me how much better they feel. I have also had the chiropractors I work with telling me that the massages are really helping people to not only adjust easier, but to hold the adjustment as well. I love helping other people feel better. It is the most rewarding thing you can do with your time. I like doing office work or hooking people up to different therapies, but most of all I just love giving people massages. Thank goodness I chose this profession!

Still and small
(#260) The Holy Ghost is awesome. I am so grateful to have its companionship with me all the time. There are many times I don't even think about it and I don't remember what a great gift it is. I am thankful to have someone who can give comfort and direction when I need it most. Life is sometimes crazy and hard, it's nice to have that part of heaven down here with me.

Knoweldge is power
I am finally attending (#259) Institute again and that makes me really grateful. One reason I love institute is because I am a big nerd and I just love learning. I love being in a classroom and absorbing everything the teacher is telling me. But even if I wasn't a huge nerd I would still love it. Learning more about the gospel is so enjoyable. The gospel is so simple, and yet you can dig deeper and deeper into the doctrines so that they have new meaning for you. I am thankful for the institute program and that I still get to attend.

I may look like a monkey, but I don't smell like one
The last couple nights have been late ones, blame it on my growing social life now that I don't have to work all the time. So there has not been the time or energy to blog about my thankfulness, but I am here to repent.
I am thankful for (#256) BYU Football. Even though we played the worst football game I have ever seen, the worst game in the history of the universe, I still love the Cougars and watching them play. There is just something there that makes me happy. Call me loyal, strong, and true because I will always love me some BYU Football.
It's sad that I didn't write yesterday because it was my birthday. Yep, I turned the big 26. Not to sound cocky or anything, but I am thankful for (#257) me. I am thankful for my life, for the person I have become, and for the awesome experiences I have had up to this point. I am also grateful and excited for all that being me will entail in the future. So many thing will be happening in my life and I am thankful for that.
Tonight I am very grateful that I (#258) found my birth certificate. I thought it was lost and almost had a heart attack. I need to get my drivers license renewed and so that little piece of paper verifying where I was born is a pretty big deal. Glad I found that one for sure!

TGIF
Once again I am able to say that I am thankful for (#255) Fridays!! For the longest time Friday has been the second busiest night of the week, it is also the day leading up to Saturday which is definitely the busiest day of the week. There was no joy or excitement about it until now. I now love Friday because it means tomorrow I don't have to work. I can sleep or run errands or play with friends or do whatever I darn well please. Oh the joy of freedom. I am a big fan so far.

let's make some adjustments
I had (#254) my first mini-adjustment from the chiropractor today for which I am very grateful. My shoulder has been giving me grief this week and so I finally asked on of the doctors I work with to look at it. He did his thing, a few pulls and pushes here and there and there was a marked improvement in my shoulder. I am thankful they spent all that time and money in school to help me feel better!

Employee of the month
I really am thankful for those times when (#253) my new bosses compliment me on how I'm doing. Today two of the chiropractors I work with told me I am doing an excellent job. One was talking about my handling of the patient flow and the other about my massage. It feels really nice to be appreciate by the people you are working for and knowing that they are glad they hired you.

Ice ice baby
I am really grateful for (#252) ice packs, especially the one sitting on my shoulder tonight. I think I was a little too gung-ho on the yoga class last night and now I am regretting it. Luckily this awesome ice pack is numbing away the pain.

chatty chatty
Usually I hate (#251) facebook chat. I think it's a really annoying feature. But tonight I was really thankful for it. It gave me a few seconds to chat with a family friend. We just happened to be on at the same time and were able to catch up. Sometimes the things that bug you end up being a blessing. Thanks facebook chat, I guess you're not horribly useless.

One time
I love it when I (#250) win a new game that I just learned. Tonight I played Sequence with my brother and his roommates. Two of them were going on and on about how they win all the time, no one ever beats them, yadda yadda yadda. Well his other roommate and I teamed up and kicked their butts. It was quite the wonderful feeling. That could be the last time I ever win, but it doesn't matter. I will always have that one time and that's what I am thankful for.
It's Saturday Saturday
Today I (#249)worked the last Saturday I will ever be forced to work at the spa!! That means that after a year and a half absence I have returned to the freedom of Saturdays. I am so beyond excited. Next week will be my first Saturday and I don't even know where to start. Sure there will be times when stuff comes up, or I may decide to help out at the spa every once in a while. But the point is that it will be my choosing. I am in charge of my weekends from now on and it feels great!!!

Let my people in
I am very thankful to that driver who let me in today. (#248) Courteous drivers are a blessing. Today the traffic was insane and it would have been impossible to get out of my work's parking lot if not for this kind driver. I was always taught to be generous and let people in, but I feel like a lot of people just ignore that general rule. I am very thankful that someone saw me and let me go even when they had been waiting forever! Drivers take note, let the people in.

Tangled
Tonight I am really glad to have (#247) braids. All my official french-braiders have left me, so I have had to start doing it myself. It's not nearly as enjoyable, but how else am I supposed to get curly hair? Luckily I learned from an early age how to french braid. I practiced on Barbies and my American Girls doll. Curly hair is the perfect solution when you know it will be hard waking up the next morning. Hair styles may stay, but braid will always be in.

I'll be your therapist
I am really grateful that (#246) I was able to work at the spa for the last year and a half. Don't get me wrong, I am so excited to be moving on. But the spa is where I needed to be right after school. I met some amazing people, people who will be my friends long after I am gone. I also learned a lot about myself and how I deal with stressful situations (I'm not always the best under stress I have learned). Finally, my massage is ten times better now than it was right out of school. Working on different people one right after the other really does perfect you. Plus I was able to watch and copy my co-workers which always makes you a better therapist. I am very thankful for this chapter in my life and am excited for the next one.

Try the next one
I am thankful for the (#245) one treadmill that had working head phones at the gym. Those seem to be a rare commodity these days. I'm glad it allowed me to have something distracting me as I trudged along.

You're so novel
My new (#243) water bottle is pretty cool. I have spent many many years using the plastic throw away kind. When they show those commercials with the bottles wrapping around the earth I feel like they are talking specifically to me. Well I have tried to kick the habit and purchased an official water bottle. Things are working out pretty well between us and I don't feel like I'm killing the earth. Go me.
I am so grateful for (#244) friends who always know the right thing to say when you need a little pick-me-up. Even if those words happen to be song lyrics, it's just nice to have people who know you that well and can put that smile on your face when you need it.

Get off my couch!
I get to keep my (#242) couch! Happy happy day! Things worked out so that I don't have to sell it and it gets to come live with me again. I don't know why I am so attached to this couch, but I am, and now I get to keep it. I think the Lord really wanted me to have this couch. Why else would people call and text and look, but still not buy this awesome couch? Probably because He wanted me to have it. He knew how happy it would make me. I am glad the Lord cares about the little things that make us happy as well as the big things.
How can I have some more if I haven't had anything yet?
Is there anything better than coming home smelling like a (#241) campfire? I am a big fan of that smell. Usually because it means I have spent the evening eating marshmallows and poking the fire with sticks. There is just something about fires that are relaxing and super fun, as long as the fire isn't burning all the skin off your legs that is. Sadly the summer is coming to a close, but there is always the hope of more fires in the future.

(#240) Yogurt Land, Yogurt Land you are so delicious. Thank you for you abundance of flavors, the yummy toppings, and the awesome green spoon you gave me with the frog on top.

Kiss it goodbye
Today we said (#239) good-bye to the Thorneberry and that makes me very grateful. It was a nice place to live, but the last few weeks of trying to get out of there have been stressful. The managers were not in their office when they should have been so that made things super fun. But the keys were turned in and we never have to return. I am thankful that I have only once place to live now.

Yo bro
I am thankful to have a (#238) helpful brother. While he missed the fun and games of my initial moving, he has made up for it by moving a couch, monster sac, and tv. He is also storing my couch for me until someone comes to buy it. He may be loud and dorky at times, but he is still there when I need him and that it was wonderful brothers do.

Lovin my work
So remember that thing that finally came together that I was so happy about? Well that was my (#237) NEW JOB and I have to say that it is pretty awesome! I am the massage therapist/chiropractic assistant for a chiropractors office. Now I only worked for a few hours this morning, but I feel like it is going to be great. I did some massage, but then I hooked up patients to the therapy machines and pulled their information. It was nice to have so much variety. There is still so much for me to learn and understand. But once I have it all down everything will be even better. I am so very very very very thankful for this new job and the opportunities it's going to give me both professionally and personally.

The singles ward
I am thankful for a (#236) new ward that is really fun. Ok so I'm guessing it's fun based on sacrament today. I don't actually know if it is for sure. But really anything could be an improvement from the ward I just came from. The fact that this ward has an outgoing bishopric, nice girls, and more than ten guys is a very good sign. Let's hope things continue to improve.

Oh BBQ I love you
I am thankful for (#234) little field trips from work. Today Natalie and I got to go for a little car ride while we were still working. It was a nice way to shake up the day. Plus I always love spending time with that girl.
I really really love (#235) BBQ sauce. Anyone who knows me, I mean really knows me, knows that I cannot get enough of this stuff. I will eat almost anything covered in BBQ sauce. I feel that if I had to choose one condiment to live with for the rest of my life this would definitely be it,

Don't fall
Angela brought a (#233) bathroom rug home today. It sits right in front of our shower. I am really thankful for this rug because it means I am no longer dripping onto the hard slick floor. For some reason this grosses me out, so I am very grateful that the rug is here. Oh the little joys of life.

It's finally here
I am so so so thankful for those moments when (#232) something very important to you comes together. When that thing that you have been stressing over, and praying over, and working for, and praying for, and whining about, and praying about finally comes together. And you know that Heavenly Father is just looking down and laughing at you saying "I told you everything would work out." Those moments are beautiful and peaceful, and I am very grateful to be enjoying one right now.

Wake me up next year
I am thankful for/love (#231) those few seconds after you fall into your bed after a very long day and know that you are going to be getting a very good nights sleep.

We're not paying to cool the neighborhood
I am thankful for (#230) air conditioning. Oh bless the AC! It is the only thing that kept me from dying while I moved my life from one apartment to another. Every time I came inside I was hit with a blast old cold air that convinced me I could make at least one more trip outside.

Make that change
I am thankful for (#229) change. However this is a different kind of thankful. It's not a Wahoo-I-really-love-change-it's-so-much-fun-I-wish-I-could-do-it-every-day thing. No, it's more of an I'm-thankful-for-change-because-I-know-it's-good-for-me-but-I-still-hate-it type of thing.
Change is necessary for any type of growth. My life has been smooth and uneventful this past year and I have become very comfortable with that. There are a lot of changes coming around the corner for me. While I know that it will not be the most enjoyable ride I know that it is needed. I'm grateful to have a Father in Heaven that knows this and nudges me towards places I would not have ventured to myself.

Rain rain go away
I am thankful that (#228) it stopped raining when I went to move my boxes into my new apartment. I hate moving. I have stated before that it is the worst activity ever. Moving in the rain would have doubled the bad feelings I have towards moving. So I am very grateful the rain stopped for a few minutes so I could run my things inside. Sometimes it really is the little things.

Mint + Chocolate = amazing
My day went from good to great today thanks to (#227) Rene and the awesome BYU mint brownies she brought to work. What a wonderful coworker. She happened to be on campus and decided to bring us all a little treat. It was a slow day and I really didn't want to be there. That brownie made things better. Thanks Rene you are the best!

Wee wee all the way home
(#226) Nail polish is a wonderful thing. It makes feet easier to look at. I for one feel that there are no good looking feet. All feet look weird, there is no way around that. But nail polish makes them nicer to look at. It's not so bad to walk around in sandals when those little piggies are all done up.

This will only hurt a bit
I really appreciate (#225) wax, especially the type that rips hair off my face. No one really enjoys getting waxed, but it is nice to look in the mirror and not see any hair on your face. Now let's see my brothers try to make fun of my mustache.

What's up doc?
Bless the (#224) doctors of the world. I had to visit them after a five year absence and I have to say that they do not have an easy job. Parts of my physical were not the most enjoyable, I can only imagine how doctors feel doing that stuff over and over again. I am thankful to have people who spend so many years learning about the human body. The advice and help that they give truly makes life better. I am grateful to live in a time with such advanced medicine. With the help of these doctors maybe I will make it to 100.

Erica Schwab "Likes" this
I am thankful for (#223) Facebook. I realize this sounds like a superficial and ridiculous thing to be grateful for, but I am. Now I don't live on Facebook or anything, but I do like to browse and look at what some people are up to. Tonight I saw a post from a girl I was friends with in Jr. High. She posted a Shania Twain video that we used to dance to all the time. We would dress up, turn on the video camera and basically make our own music videos. I am pretty sure those videos were lost to the world, thank goodness. But it was great to remember those times. I am glad to be reminded of good friends from the past.

Where my peeps at?
Anyone who knows me can attest that I have a bit of an obsession with peeps. I think they are the greatest, especially when they have been sitting out for a few days and are nice and stale. Judge me all you want but they are delicious. So what could be better than a nice stale peep? How about a (#222) peep pillow that lasts forever! Given to me by my BFF, this pillow has remained perched on my bed for a few years now. It becomes the perfect cuddling pillow at night and in the morning reminds me that there is some holiday around the corner where I will be able to eat peeps. Oh what a wonderful gift!

In west Philadelphia born and raised
Who doesn't love (#221) The Fresh Prince of Be lair? Will Smith is one of the best looking men ever! The song, the clothes, did I mention Will Smith? I love late night tv, it is the best.

So white and clean
(#220) Temples are the most wonderful places. I am grateful to have one so close to my home. I am also very thankful to live in a time when there are so many temples. They bring such a feeling of peace, they are the ultimate chill pill. Not only do temples insure that I am sealed to my family forever, but they give me insight into the plan of salvation. It is a very slow process but I am learning more each time I go. I love the temple and feel so blessed to be able to enter.

Get that corn outta my face
I am really glad (#219) my ipod has movies. It comes in really handy at work. I was waiting for two hours before I did a massage today and it really killed some time. I sat in the corner with my headphones giggling to myself as I watched Nacho Libre. My co-workers kept shooting me strange looks but that's ok. Thanks to the awesome movie capabilities I was so zoned out I didn't hear a thing.

Lovin the shade
I will be forever grateful for (#218) covered parking. Usually this would be something I mention in the winter since the blessed covered parking keeps me from scraping my windows in the morning. But it is also quite useful in the summer. The covered stalls keeps my car temperature below boiling which is something I really appreciate. Go covered parking!!

All the thanks in the world
I am thankful to have (#212) road trips, which is the reason I have been away from the blogging world. Traveling the country and spending hours in the car talking to your mom is a great way to spend a few days.
I am super super thankful to have (#213) working brakes. It looks as if the Lord was really watching over us on this little vacation. My mom took the car to the shop today to find out that we spent the whole trip driving with brakes in the danger zone. I am very grateful that they worked the whole time we were gone.
(#214) Eternal marriage is something I am very grateful for. I got to witness a friend get marries this weekend and it was really beautiful. I know as a singleton I spend much time griping and moaning about marriage and how it takes all my friends away. But it really is a wonderful thing, I am thankful to have these unions that can last for eternity.
I am very thankful for the (#215) car charger that allowed my sister to watch movies on our road trip. It provided some needed quiet time.
(#216) Blue Bell Ice Cream is something I discovered over in Colorado and I am very grateful. It was so smooth and creamy, I really enjoyed eating it. Too bad they don't serve it here in Utah.
(#217) Cruise control is a life saver! Whoever invented that little trinket deserves a medal. It saved my legs from countless hours of stopping and starting this last week. Bless the cruise control.

It is a fitness orb and it has completely changed my life
I am thankful for (#211) exercise balls today. Mostly because they make me feel really cool at the gym. It makes me look like I know what I'm doing, like I regularly work out or something like that.

Shark!!
This has been my first time celebrating (#210) Shark Week, and so far it has been quite enjoyable. Sure I have to look away from the carnage every once in a while, but it's pretty awesome to see how powerful these creature are. Plus it reinforces the notion that I will not be taking up surfing as a hobby any time soon.

I call this apartment,...... yes Erica we all do
Today (#209) I found a place to live and for that I am very grateful. I am not one who likes to do things at the last minute. Usually I am well aware of my future living situation at least 6 months in advance. So to say that these last few weeks have been stressful is an understatement. I am so glad to have a place to be moving to. Moving itself is the most horrible activity ever invented. But at least I won't be living in a cardboard box at the end of this month.

The book is blue
I am so grateful to have a knowledge of the (#208) Book of Mormon. It has been an enormous blessing to my life. Each time I read it I gain new insight into things I need to learn about the Savior and my life here on earth. You would think that I book written so long ago would be out of touch with the things of today. But it is exactly the opposite, I find that the Book of Mormon gives me instructions on how to handle my life in these days. I so thankful to live in a time when this book is available and to know that is it given directly from God.

Mufflers, aisle 12
I am glad that there are still (#207) good businesses around these days, people who actually care about customer service. Once again my car decided to be dramatic and I needed to get a new battery. I went to the NAPA Auto Parts store right next to my house. They were very helpful in diagnosing the problem and providing me with a new battery. Apparently they don't really deal with any actual repairs for the car. But they could see I was obviously clueless in the realm of battery replacement so they put the new one in for me. They wouldn't even accept a tip. I am very thankful for those who go out of their way to help the people that come into their store.

Stand back and start her up
I am very very grateful for (#206) helpful people, for those who take time out of their busy lives to help me. I am thankful for my boss who drove me around for half an hour today trying to find jumper cables. I am thankful for the guy from Good Earth who came to help give my car a jump. I am grateful he didn't make me feel like an idiot when giving me a lesson in using the cables. I am glad we have helpful people in this world.

Time for a spot of tea
Right now I am very grateful for the (#205) British chocolate Emily brought me from Enlgand. It is delicious! Don't get me wrong, I am very happy to have her home as well. She came back with a big sparkly ring on her finger which is very exciting. But the treats she brought were also very exciting. My favorite so far have been the digestive biscuits. Yep, you heard me, digestive biscuits. They are these sweeten cracker/cookies things covered in chocolate. If this is what they use for digestive health over there than I may have to consider moving.

Ctrl Alt Delete
I am very very thankful to have a (#204) computer. Not only was it useful during school, but it is my go to item when I am bored. My favorite part is the red cover. I paid $30 to upgrade the color. Stupid you may say, but it makes me happy every time I look at it. Woot for technology.

Lets go to the movies
Big props to whoever came up with the (#203) discount movies. It's a beautiful concept for those who are cheap like me. It takes a really good movie for me to be willing to pay full price. Harry Potter is one of the only ones that falls under that category. Anything else will just have to wait. And waiting is definitely worth it when you only have to pay $2-3. Thank you to discount theaters everywhere, you make a cheapsters living better.

Go Dave
I really like reading (#202) Dave Barry's column. The guy is so stinking funny! I really admire people who have a way with words. To find ways to poke fun at every day life without insulting others is really a talent. Look him up, you won't regret it.

They walked AND walked
Happy Pioneer Day! I am very grateful for the (#201) pioneers. Not only for settling Utah and making it a wonderful place to live, put for making the journey in the first place. They had such unwavering testimonies of the truthfulness of the gospel. They couldn't have made the trip without it. I don't think I would have made a very good pioneer. The physical comforts I have would be very hard to give up. I hope though that given the command I would have the faith that they did to make the journey. From my own family history and from those I do not know, I am very thankful for the pioneers. May we all strive to live with that type of commitment to the gospel.

Baby you're a firework
I am really thankful for (#199) hair gel. It keeps the natural craziness down and lets me show my face in public.
I love (#200) fireworks! I went home for Mendon's 24th of July fireworks show. It is one of the best fireworks shows, probably because you get to sit so darn close. Living in a small down definitely has it's perks. Thank you to whoever invented fireworks. They bring the town together and are tons of fun.

Knock knock
I am thankful for (#197) locks on my door. Anyone who has lived with me can testify that I get a little nuts about locking the doors at night. I blame it on watching too many episodes of Unsolved Mysteries as a child. Whatever the cause, I am very grateful to have strong locks to keep all the creepers out. It makes me feel safe, and you can't put a price on that.
I am also thankful for (#198) household plants. We only have one and it belongs to Emily. It started as a little seed and has become a mighty plant, sort of. I am in charge of the watering while Emily is away on holiday. She entrusted me with this great responsibility and I have done my best to keep this plant thoroughly watered. It makes me happy to walk out to the kitchen and see this little guy hanging out. I am very tempted to get one of my own, but only if I can keep this one alive for another week.

Streaker
Today an incredible thing happened, I passed my safety and emission test!! This rarely happens without me having to fork over my entire savings account to fix some problem. Well today there were no issues and that left me with a little extra money in the bank. So I did what any responsible adult would do and went out to buy myself a present.
I found the most amazing (#196) work-out pants ever! They are wonderful, honestly it feels like I'm not wearing anything at all. Now, exercising without clothes is not something I have given a lot of thought to, but after my work-out today I just might. These things were light, breezy, and they looked pretty good too. I feel that anything that gets me excited to go to the gym deserves a big note of thanks.

Watch me strut
I don't get super girly about too many things, but I am really loving my (#195) new purse. There is something about a cute new purse that makes me want to go places, just so I can use it. Purses are not a necessity, but they are just great to have. I am grateful to have little luxuries in my life that make things fun.

Deeper or lighter?
I am very grateful for those (#194) small moments when you realize that you are really good at you job. Yesterday at work I received a nice little ego boost. My last massage was deep tissue for a very muscular guy. Honestly, I was feeling very doubtful in my ability to produce a good massage for this dude. It was the last appointment of the day so I was tired, my table was way too high, looking at him on the table you could see that he had a large amount of muscle, and he told me to go as deep as I wanted because he could handle anything. I was not feeling confident at all and really wanted to go home.
Lucky for me this was one of those days when I was reminded that I picked a good career for myself. He told me that my first stroke almost popped his back it was so deep. At the end he was impressed and said I really kicked his butt, in a good way. It was such a simple thing to say, but to me it meant a lot. I really appreciate having people compliment my work. It's nice to know that you are good at something that you are passionate about. And that you can kick a big guys butt if you need to.

I pledge allegiance to this blog
We are more than halfway through this year and I find myself forgetting to blog more and more. I went on vacation with the family earlier this week so that excuses Monday through Wednesday. After that its just a huge fail. I think of things I am grateful for every day, but the hard part is writing it down. I am recommitting myself to the blogging of my thankfulness. That is the challenge and I have renewed my dedication. So without further ado, here is my week of thankfuls.
(#188) Family vacations- there is something magical about being on vacation, it's different than a regular day off. I think it's the fact that you can do nothing at all and will still be a success. I loved spending time with my family just hanging out and relaxing for a few days.
(#189) Swimming pools- if I can distract myself from all the icky things that could be floating around, I find pools to be very enjoyable. My family has the tendency to chase everyone else away from the pool. Then we have the whole place to ourselves and that is pretty enjoyable as well.
(#190) Sunscreen- this thankfulness actually comes from my lack of using it. My face got scorched on Wednesday and it was not a pretty sight. I am very grateful for SPF and for the times that I remember to use it.
(#191) HARRY POTTER!!- I am very grateful for Harry Potter. My roomies and I went to the midnight showing of the last Harry Potter movie ever! It was very bitter sweet, happy to see it, sad for it to all be over. It's hard to explain to non-Harry lovers why the books and movies are so great. It's magic and friendship and loyalty and bravery and just plain awesomeness. Who doesn't love that?
(#192) Cereal-Have I already mentioned this before? It's a food item so that is very likely. But I just love cereal. I feel as if it should be a food group. I feel very sorry for anyone who does not like to eat cereal, they are missing out.
(#193) Peanut Butter shakes from Purple Turtle- another food item I know. But I was having an ice cream craving tonight (something that rarely happens) and this shake really hit the spot. Purple Turtle is great because their shakes are huge! Go try it out, you won't regret it.

splish splash
I am very grateful for (#187) water. It sounds like a simple thing, very basic but I really love drinking it, swimming in it, showering, water is just great. Very much needed and very enjoyed.
Pass the hammer
Mel and I visited the dollar theater tonight to see Thor, and it was awesome! I really appreciate (#186) good movies. It had the perfect combination of action, humor, and a bit of romance. Absent from the movie was the f-bomb or any other swearing, skanky girls, or sex scenes. It's really nice to see a movie and not have to worry about what you will see or hear. Thanks Thor, you are the best.

Crank it up
These days I am very grateful for my (#185) box fan. We are trying to cut costs and keep the AC off at night. My fan is the only thing that keeps me from melting in my bed. As long as I have that baby it will be cool breezes and sweet dreams all night long.
iPod sweetness
I am thankful for my (#184)iPod touch, from which I am writing this blog. Not only does it allow me to listen to sweet music and watch movies,it lets me use the Internet when I am too lazy to go out to the living room.

Proud to be an American
I've started to notice a pattern. Every time I go home I end up forgetting to blog about my thankfulness. Luckily, the weekends are usually quite enjoyable so I have plenty to be thankful for once I get home.
(#179) Pitchforths- This weekend was extra fun because it was spent with the Pitchforth family, basically my other family. I firmly believe that in heaven we were one giant family, but mom and Heidi could not decide who would be the mom over everyone. So we had to come down in two separate families. We all have so much fun together and there is never a shortage on laughs or food. They are great people to hang with.
(#180) Just Dance- This Wii game is the best. I am a big fan of it and not just because I can beat everyone in my family. It really gets you moving so it is fun and exercise. Its another great thing to do with my siblings.
(#181) Independence- Monday was the 4th of July! I am so grateful to live in this country and enjoy so many freedoms. I have never lived outside the U.S., but I do read a lot. I can only imagine what it is like in other places where they don't have such liberties. I am so thankful for America and the opportunities I have living here.
(#182) Soldiers- Our country wouldn't be so free if we didn't have people protecting us 24/7. I am very thankful to all the men and women who give lives to keep us safe and free. I am also thankful for their families who let them go and serve for such a long time.
(#183) Pudding-I ate a pudding cup tonight and it was delicious. Thanks for tasty treats in little packages.

Please place your item in the bagging area
I really appreciate the (#178) self check-out stands at the WalMart. It lets me show off my awesome scanning skills. It also allows me to get in and out with my super-sized box of panty liners and small chocolate fix without drawing too many stares.

Red means stop
I had a beautifully composed post all ready to go last night when blogger decided to be dramatic and stop working. So here ya go.
(#177) Visiting teaching is one of those things that has really grown on me over the years. I use to dread doing it and would wait until the last possible minute at the end of the month. Now at this point in my life it is something I really enjoy. Tonight Emily and I took one of our girls out for a birthday treat. It was so much fun and not once did I think "Thank goodness I can check this off my list". The girls I visit teach become my friends and it is great to be able to spend time with them and be around when they need something. The Lord definitely knew what he was doing when he gave us this program.
Today I was thankful that I (#178) did not get in a car accident. On my way home this truck almost ran a red light. Had he not stopped he would have crashed right into me as I was passing through the intersection. I am very grateful for whatever brought him to his senses and made him slam on his brakes. Another disaster avoided, thank goodness.

Minty Floss
My last trip to the dentist landed me with two cavities, the culprit was my lack of flossing over the years. Since those fillings I have taken up a strict flossing regiment. I am thankful for (#176) floss and the cavity fighting powers it has. Switching to the glide floss has also made a difference in my dental care, much more enjoyable than the other kind.

Sorry you feel blank inside
I really like getting (#175) thank you cards from other people expressing their thanks to me. Becca sent me one in the mail and it was quite the little surprise today. No one really sends thank you notes anymore, but I think it is a fun and simple way to say thanks. Plus it is always fun for me to get mail that isn't some sort of bill. Thanks Becca!

Yeah Bishop!
I am very thankful for (#174) good bishops. Today one of my old bishops was released and so I went with many other old 106ers to pay my respects. A good bishop can make a huge difference in your life, especially a singles ward bishop. I always felt known and loved as an individual by Bishop Albrecht. The callings he gave me helped me to grow into the person I am now. I realize that the Lord is the one who calls us, but the bishop had the faith to give me the call and know that I wouldn't screw things up. He was also there to help and encourage when I didn't always know what I was doing. A huge thanks to all the bishops who dedicate so much time and energy to their calling. It makes a big difference to the ward and the lives of its members.

Watch your fingers
Thanks to Habitat for Humanity I got to use a table saw, drill, and nail gun today! I think I may have missed my calling in life as a builder/contractor. I am really grateful for (#173) service opportunities. I don't do them nearly enough. It is such a good chance to look outside yourself and try to do something for others. You always walk away from service feeling good, and it is just another reminder of how blessed I am. Today we worked on a house that had been completely gutted. It looked like such a sad place, it made me thankful for the wonderful life and living conditions that I have. I am very thankful for the ability to give service and hope that I can give more in the future.

I do
I really like watching (#172) Say Yes to the Dress: Big Bliss. I realize that paints me as the typical pathetic single girl watching shows about marriage, but I could really care less. This is a fun show. First of all, it shows that any size can be beautiful especially on her wedding day. Second, it keeps me very motivated to never have to be on Big Bliss. It keeps me going to the gym.
About a year ago I made a pack with my friends Emily and Sarah that we would never be on Big Bliss. We would also be responsible for letting the other girls know if they were getting close to that point. We chant and motivate the others to keep it fit. It's a great support system and as I said, the show is just enjoyable. Check it out for some good wedding fun.

Saved once again
I am thankful for (#171) overdraft protection. Sadly I may have had to use it in the last month. I don't really like having to use it, but it's nice to have it there in case of emergencies.

Confessions
So last night I may have been really bored and surfing around on Netflix. I may have found Power Rangers The Movie, and........ I may have actually watched it. There is something about (#169) childhood movies and memorabilia that is so enjoyable. The 90s hair and clothes, the witty catch phrases, and the awesome stunts were fantastic. It was every bit as cheesy as I remember and it was so fun to watch.
Today I went to Seven Peaks for FREE! Thanks to my (#170) Pass of all Passes. For the next 12 months I get unlimited Seven Peaks, mini golf, laser tag, and go karts. It was the best purchase ever and I will be getting tons of fun from this.

Whose your daddy?
In my haste to catch up with my thankfulness yesterday I forgot that I should probably be writing about my dad since it was Father's Day. But I think it works out better this way. My (#168) Dad is so awesome that he deserves a post all to himself.
I'm sorry to anyone out there who thought they had the best dad in the world, you are mistaken. Mine takes the cake. My dad lives up to everything a father should be, one who provides, presides, and protects his family. Being the father of such a large family cannot be easy. There is a lot of pressure and stress to take care of everyone and I know that this has not been an easy task. Many men would have given up and walked away, but I never had to worry about that. I know my dad will always be around when I need him.
I am so grateful to have my dad. I love him so much and know how blessed our family is to have him in our lives.

Friends for dinner
This has been a whirlwind of a weekend! Lindsay got married, plus my sister Becca and my BFF Elizabeth came to stay with me this week. Needless to say there has been much to be thankful about.
(#164) Reunions-Lindsay's reception turned into a giant BYU 106 ward reunion. Aside from my bridesmaid duties of course, I spent the whole night reconnecting with friends and catching up on their lives. I get such joy out of talking to them and thinking about the awesome times we had. The 106 ward was a very special time and place in my life and I am so grateful I was able to be a part of it.
(#165) Photo booths- There was a photo booth at the reception and we got to take unlimited pictures. Plus there were props provided with made for barrels of fun. Who doesn't love to dress up like a fool and make funny faces? Such a good idea, I would definitely recommend it to those planning a reception.
(#166) Toilet paper- A lot of people used my bathroom this week. With all that business going on I didn't realize how low the paper supply had become. I ran out, luckily I was not sitting and therefor didn't find myself stranded. Angela was nice enough to give me a roll to hold me over until I can get to the store. I am very happy to live in the age of TP and not be forced to use some type of foliage.
(#167) Friends-Saying this makes me sounds like the lonely kid who only has one friend that they are sooooo grateful for. But this weekend has really made me thankful for my friends (and for the record I have more than one). They add a richness and dimension to your life that cannot be found anywhere else. I am grateful to have friends that I can keep in touch with. Friends that are still there even when they are physically gone. I love friends that you can see after months and years of being apart and pick up right where you left off. Friends are the best and I love them!

Sister Act
(#163) Sisterly bonding is so great. In the past few months I have had all my sisters come to stay with me for a bit and it has been loads of fun. There is something about sisters that is really comforting. It's like having a friend that has to love you no matter how weird you may be. You are literally friends forever and that is a very reassuring feeling. We are all very different from one another, but that is what makes the relationships so fun and interesting. I love all my sisters and are very very grateful for them.

Salsa!
I went to my first (#161) Zumba class last night and it was awesome. First of all, I did not look like a complete idiot trying to follow along, so that is a big plus. Second, it turned out to be a really good work-out and I am excited to go again. It's nice to exercise, but also get your groove on at the same time.
Today was my day off so I made a trip to the (#162) car wash. It was about time since there were still the remains of several bird droppings on my car. I love it when things get clean and I don't have to do anything. Sitting in the car while your cruising through the car wash is really quite entertaining. You have soap splattering, water spraying, and wind blowing everywhere. I couldn't see anything for a while but it was cool to be completely sealed off and isolated in the car. I may have to make a trip there again soon.

Welcome back
(#160) Homecomings. Not the mission variety, although those are great too. I am thankful to have my roommate Angela back from South America. It's really fun to catch up with someone when they get back and hear about their exciting news. Then it's awesome to relay the boring time you had to them. I am glad that she had fun, but it's good to have our apartment back to normal.

Cheesecake
(#159) Cheesecake. I know that many of the things I have listed here happen to be of the food variety, but this one really sits on top. I love cheesecake. It is probably my favorite thing to eat in the entire world. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack time, any time really is perfect for cheesecake. Tonight for Lindsay's bachelorette party we went to the Cheesecake Factory and it was divine. The food it ok, but the desserts are amazing. My item of choice tonight was a chocolate coconut cream cheesecake and it did not disappoint. Just thinking about it makes me hungry all over again. I just love cheesecake and am so grateful for whoever invented this tasty tasty treat.

Ready or not, here I come
I don't ever lose things, but I happen to misplace them a lot. That is why I am super thankful for (#158) finding the misplaced items in my life. My camera has been MIA for a few months now. I don't often get the urge to take pictures, but on those rare occasions I haven't been able to find the dang thing. Well, today I was rummaging through a random drawer and at the very bottom I found it! Now I can actually document my life. I am very grateful to have it back, and that I was able to relocate it again.

Thanks, thanks a lot
Today (#157) Emily and Micah brought me some delicious yogurt from Red Mango to help me get over my crappy work day. Isn't that the nicest thing ever? I love it when people are so thoughtful and try to cheer you up. It really did work because the raspberry cheesecake yogurt they brought me was amazing. I spent 6 hours at work and didn't have one massage, meaning I didn't make any money. Needless to say I was not in the best mood when I walked in the door. Thanks to good friends who make coming home much more enjoyable.

Reunited and it feels so good
Lindsay and I ran into some old friends today and it was awesome! (#156) Catching up with friends is so much fun. I for one love talking about the old days and reminiscing with people. I think it is another really good way to think about all the things you have been blessed with. These particular friends came from a period in my life that was really enjoyable. I haven't changed all that much, but I could feel some of my past self coming out while talking to them and it was great. I need to try and pull that out more. I am grateful to have fun moments like this in my life.

No diving
The (#155) swimming pool is open for the summer! It is so nice to be living a few feet away from the pool. Not many kids are there so the splashing is limited. I love laying out by the pool and floating around for a bit. It's the perfect topping to a lazy day. I am thankful to have one so close to me. Bring on the sunburns.

Scrub scrub scrub
I have a super (#154) clean apartment today! Mondays I am on-call so there isn't much to do other than sit around the apartment. That usually leads me to some type of cleaning binge. But today was Emily's first day of summer break and so she joined the cleaning party. Our apartment is so clean right now, you could eat off almost any surface, almost. The best development in cleaning came from my shower. Sadly it has been a while since the old shower has had a good scrub, but it looks so amazing now. Is there anything better than showering in a newly scrubbed shower? I am so grateful to have a clean place to live, and people who help me keep it that way.

Is it the 31st already?
I had (#153) home teachers over for the first time in 10 months. I didn't realize how much I had missed having them come over. We don't need very much help in our apartment. We are all pretty independent and live our own lives. But it's really nice to know we can call on them if we need them. It's like having that security net. You don't use it very often, but it helps to know it's there. I am very thankful to have home teachers again and to know that they care about our apartment.

Move it
(#153) Tetris is the best game ever. It has become a recent addiction in our apartment. We all seem to be pretty evenly matched and so it makes for some really competitive fun. Plus, with all the spacial placement type stuff we are building brain power as we play. Gaming that makes you smarter, who thought that was possible?

Working 9-5
I am thankful that I have a (#152) job. I'm not always the biggest fan of where I work. I love being a massage therapist, but working for a spa is not really the ideal situation for me. There are things that I really wish would be different and some days I come home feeling very, very tired. Still, I know that I am very lucky to have a job. These days jobs are hard to find. Although it's not a barrel of laughs every day I am so grateful to have a way to provide for myself. This job allows me to be independent and to enjoy my life. I am very thankful for that.
Smell my breath
(#151) Mints are a lifesaver, especially the ones that actually say lifesaver on them. I have always been a big fan of the mint family. They keep my breath fresh and clean and taste really good. Plus, they are really good at waking you up should you find yourself getting drousey in the car or in a massage. Add mint to chocolate and you have the best flavor combination ever. Thank you mints for not allowing me to offend people as I speak.

Ow my tummy
(#149) Eyebrows-Yesterday I got my eyebrows waxed for the first time. It was actually quite fun. Sure it stings a little bit, but having the hair pulled feels strangely good. But I did get a little nervous right before she ripped the wax off. What if she pulled off an entire eyebrow? I would have to draw it on like my grandma. Plus, anytime there was rain, dirt, or sweat running down my face it would go right into my eye. I am so thankful to still have two good looking, and functioning eyebrows.
(#150) Feeling healthy-Right now I have a major stomach ache. I feel like there is a large balloon inside of me. This makes me think about all the moments in my life where I don't feel like crap. I never really appreciate those moments until they are gone. I am thankful to be a relatively healthy person and that I don't normally feel sick. I am hoping to feel that gratefulness and healthiness very soon.

I love good old fashioned (#148) family time. I am at home for a few days and it's nice to be haning out with the family. One thing I like about our family is that we don't do a whole lot, we're not busy people. To some that may sound super lazy, but I love it. We just spend time with one another, sit around talking, watch movies, and just enjoy the company. It's low key and I am so thankful to have this time just to be together.

Call me icebox
I made it up to Logan today thanks to my reliable, although sometimes temperamental, (#147) car. I named her Becky after an awkward encounter I had with someone a few years ago. Later I realized that Becky is also the name of the Icebox in The Little Giants, so really it fits quite perfectly. (Hey, who didn't love seeing Devon Sawa in those football pants?)
I am very thankful to have a car. I wasn't able to buy one until I had graduated from college. Before Becky I was used to bumming rides and memorizing the bus schedule. There is such a feeling that comes from owning your own car. Becky is a little on the mature side and so occasionally repairs need to be made. Each visit to the mechanic leaves me frustrated and wanting to wash my hands of the whole thing. But that's just the post-spending anxiety talking. I really do love my car and am so grateful to have a way to get around. I truly feel that Becky and I still have many good years to spend together. Let's hope she doesn't kick the bucket any time soon.

Clock in for me will ya?
I am so thankful to have (#146) co-workers I actually enjoy being around. This is somewhat of a new thing for me. It's not like I have hated my previous co-workers. However, this particular group is enjoyable during and after work. Things have been a little stressful lately and so it is nice to have fun people around. We vent, make each other laugh, and help one another get through the day. They are probably the most enjoyable part of work at the moment. I am so glad they are there or I wouldn't be able to stand it.

One day more
Tonight I saw (#145) Les Miserables, and it was the best thing ever!! I love broadway musicals. There is something so magical about them. The set was incredible and the voices were amazing. I have always enjoyed singing and other musical events, but something about these big productions blows me away. No I did not cry, but I was still greatly moved and impressed. There is such a power behind them, especially when the entire cast all combine as one. I am so grateful I got a chance to experience it and now I am off to itunes to buy the soundtrack.

Hip-hip-hooray
(#144) White strips are a wonderful invention. It's almost like using a time machine and going back to your original teeth that were perfectly white. They tend to make my teeth a little sensitive, but I will suffer through just to have a brighter, whiter smile. White teeth make me super happy, so three cheers for the white strips.

Catch the wave
I will be forever thankful for the (#143) Costa Vida pork salad. It's one of my favorite things to eat, but today it was especially wonderful. I got out of work late and had no motivation to make dinner. I was trying to be strong, but the call of Costa Vida was too loud and I went there anyways. That incredible salad saved me from hunger and the horrible chore of having to make dinner. Thank you thank you awesome deliciousness.

Thank you for the thanks
This is going to sound really corny, but I am thankful for (#142) thankfulness. Last night I was feeling super stressed and anxious. I couldn't fall asleep because my mind kept running in circles. All I could think about was work and life and how things have not been going in the direction I want them too. I feel like I have been spinning in circles and I physically started to feel it last night. Sleep alluded me and I was starting to have a minor freak out.
For some reason I thought of this blog and decided I needed something to take my mind of the stresses of life. Instead of counting sheep I started thinking about everything that I have, everything I have been blessed with. The effects were instant and amazing. I felt myself calming down physically, emotionally, and mentally. This may sound completely goofy to anyone else, but it really brought me back to reality and what is important. I would suggest this to anyone who feels the stress of daily life is crushing them. It may feel weird at first, but you will be amazed at the difference it can make.
